The AMRA (American Mining Rights Association) is having another fun and exciting outing! Free and open to the public.

Bring your friends and family! New to prospecting or curious? Let them know and they will teach you how to find gold in the desert. You keep all the gold you find!

Free camping at Slash X’s RV-friendly dry camping property or just visit for the day!

Bring everything you’ll need to have a great weekend of fun and fellowship. All claims access have been generously donated for the AMRA outing to raise funds by Route 66, Temecula Valley, High Desert Gold Diggers, and The Outlaw Prospectors for this weekend only and all the gold you find is yours to keep.

Chris D’Angelo, a reporter for the Huffington Post, wondered what it took to stake a mineral claim on federal land. So he set out to find all the necessary steps.

SAN JUAN COUNTY, Utah — Forty miles as the crow flies west of Blanding, Utah, just up the road from the former uranium boomtown of Fry Canyon and a dirt airstrip, is a parcel of federal land historically valued for its radioactive metal and other hardrock minerals.

The tracks of mule deer and cattle criss-cross a maze of red rock, cacti and parched-looking shrubs. The only signs of human life are the contrails from airlines overhead and the sound of an occasional car buzzing along State Route 95.

Here is where I decided to stake my claim, the first step a prospector takes to mine public lands.

Gold and Outdoor Festival – Sonora, CA – Aug 22-23

Delta Gold DiggersThe Delta Gold Diggers will be hosting the Gold show this year in Sonora on August 22nd and 23rd. Join them for the whole weekend! There will be two Buildings packed with Booths with live Equipment and Panning Demonstrations. The event will be located right in the Heart of the MotherLoad! Next to the famous Woods Creek that flows right through Sonora. The event is Within a 15 to 30 minutes of GPAA, LDMA and Club Claims; close to Yosemite National Park, Jamestown Railroad Museum and many many other local attractions. Be sure to join the fun as there will be plenty of speakers and demonstrations!

2015 Fraser River Gold Panning Championships!!

Coming up quick! (August 22nd – 23rd) This years event will be held at the Anderson Creek Campground in Boston Bar, BC Canada by gold panning champion Yukon Dan! (MAP)

If you want to get there early, there is FREE Gold Panning for all on August 20th & 21st! Gold panning on the Fraser River in Yale from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. All you bring is your boots! Also, August 22nd is “Free” metal detecting for kids 7:30 p.m. All money & one once copper bars found kids get to keep. (must bring own metal detector) Held at Anderson Creek Campground Boston Bar.
